About Us

In 1976, Sunshine Christian Homes was founded as a facility for retiring Christian ministers and needy missionaries who had spent their careers in the mission fields around the world.   Since that small beginning over 43 years ago, we have grown to be all inclusive and now have 86 villas in our retirement village and 105 beds in our care center.  We also provide a secured memory care area for those with conditions that require extra attention.  Sunshine Christian Homes is a Retirement Community providing “Quality Care in a Christian Environment” to seniors on a fixed income, who can no longer care for themselves at home.  Since we are a non-profit organization, quality care of our residents, not profit, it is our number one motivation.  We have no shareholders to pay dividends to, so 100% of our income stays within our facility and is used to provide services and maintain our facilities.

Our governing Board of Directors and Administration are dedicated Christians led by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Diane Toland, Board Secretary, Alice Nussbaum, along with newly appointed Administrator/COO, Kate Brusik, RN, BSN.  The three have a combined service of more than 50 years to the home and in health care business administration.

Many area churches and individual contributors donate funds along with thousands of hours of volunteer time to support our mission. You can become a part of this ministry as the Lord leads you. Just tell us your interests and availability. There is a place for you to serve.

Our Charitable Care Fund exists to assist residents whose personal funds do not fully cover their room and board expense.

Our Helping Hands Fund is specifically designed to assist residents who need financial assistance with the high cost of prescriptions, medical care or daily needs.
